Samantha Kreindler, MSW, LGSW
Samantha is a Resident Therapist at The Sibley Group who believes that healing begins in the context of a trusting, authentic relationship. Samantha creates a nonjudgmental, compassionate space where clients feel deeply heard, respected, and supported because building a strong therapeutic alliance is central to her work. She approaches each session with warmth, curiosity, and a deep commitment to honoring each person’s lived experience.
Samantha works with children, adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, grief and loss, the complex terrain of emerging adulthood, and major life transitions—including menopause. She is especially passionate about working with kids and teens to help them tame their worries and better understand the powerful connection between their brain, body, and feelings. Her clinical interests are grounded in a holistic and trauma-informed perspective, which integrates neuroscience, body-based awareness, and evidence-based practices.
Samantha uses different therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, psychodynamic approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, polyvagal-informed strategies, walk and talk sessions and expressive arts. She is also trained in somatic techniques and breathwork to help clients reconnect with their bodies and access regulation and healing. Samantha’s work is deeply influenced by the understanding that emotional wellness is inseparable from the mind-body connection.
Before entering the field of social work, Samantha worked in the law, education and field of visual arts and design — each area further cultivated her attentiveness to detail, the power of creative process and empathy. Samantha brings these sensibilities into the therapy room, offering an integrative, person-centered approach that adapts to the unique needs and goals of each client.
Samantha holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Wisconsin- Madison. Samantha is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in Washington, D.C., and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Maryland.
