Danielle Birx-Raybuck, LICSW, LCSW-C
Danielle joins The Sibley Group with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and parents. Danielle has specialized experience in working with families and couples as well as military families and youth attending therapeutic schools. She believes in the power of hope and the importance of fostering an engaging therapeutic alliance to promote personal growth.
Danielle uses techniques from play therapy, art therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) when working with children and adolescents. She has an integrative approach with adults, drawing from CBT, cognitive processing therapy, and narrative therapy as well as relationship enhancement therapy (RE) and the Gottman method in couples work to improve communication and decrease conflict. In family therapy, Danielle uses family systems theory and positive psychology to help improve relationships. Danielle is trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and uses SPACE and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT/EFFT) to work with parents.
From behavioral issues to anxiety and depression, addiction, adjustment issues, couples conflict, family conflict and communication issues, Danielle offers individualized and evidence-based treatment to promote growth and healthy relationships. She is hands-on and practical in her approach and is committed to creating a partnership and a positive therapy experience. Her style is warm, down-to-earth, and compassionate, and she creates a safe space for clients to explore and work through challenges.
Danielle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in DC, Maryland and Virginia. She received a BA from Connecticut College in Biology, Neuroscience, and Psychobiology and earned her MSW with a concentration in clinical and health work at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
