Jocelin Bailey, LICSW, LCSW-C
Jocelin has treated young children, teens, and their families over the past 10 years. She excels in connecting with children and supporting the family system. She is warm, compassionate, and skilled. Jocelin offers online therapy only to clients in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. She finds that connecting online can be surprisingly helpful and convenient for families and children.
Jocelin’s child treatment experience spans the following: childhood anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, grief, trauma, and adjustments related to family changes. She utilizes components of play therapy, biblio-therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused CBT, experiential therapy, and mindfulness into sessions with individuals, families, and groups. Jocelin specializes in treating young children with an evidence-based treatment model, PCIT—Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. PCIT targets children ages 2-7 with behavioral and emotional issues, and involves their parents/caretakers in the process. Using this approach, Jocelin coaches parents in skills that promote cooperation and emotion regulation in children. This format lends itself very well to effective online therapy and coaching.
In addition to work with children and families, Jocelin has experience offering insomnia treatment for adults experiencing sleep difficulties through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. Jocelin is also a certified Daring Way facilitator, which is a curriculum developed by Brene Brown for building self-awareness, confidence, and relationship skills.
Jocelin received her BA in Sociology at Albion College and her MSW at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In addition to working in the practice, she treats children and families at The Mary Center in Washington DC. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington, DC and Maryland.
