I believe that children and young people are finely attuned to their environments and the cues they pick up all around them from their families, schools, friends, and communities. I know that every individual and family system has their own particular set of strengths, intelligences, adaptive strategies and challenges. I look to build therapeutic relationships that honor these strengths and challenges, while exploring the roots of young people’s thoughts, feelings and actions in order to build healthier coping skills. I intend for therapeutic spaces to feel playful and safe, yet also brave and transformative. I believe therapy can serve as a tool to help young people feel more empowered, connected, capable, and self-aware.
