Sidney Knight, MSW, LICSW
Sidney has more than 8 years experience working with adolescents, parents, and adults in therapy, home and school settings. His experience includes counseling, supervising, and teaching. Sidney works with the entire family to design treatments that are concise and specific.
In his family counseling work, Sidney values and incorporates the family’s strengths and wisdom. In addition, Sidney values educating clients and families about mental health issues, treatment, and advocacy. His work includes both parents and children/teens to achieve successful outcomes. He draws upon multiple approaches, including Solution-focused therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy informed strategies, and structured play therapy.
Sidney specializes in treating kids with ADHD, adults with mood disorders, and parents dealing with behavioral issues with their children. Sidney also uses group therapy with his clients to help them achieve their emotional and social goals.
Sidney obtained a BS degree from Morgan State University, and his MSW from the University of Maryland. He speaks fluent Spanish and has extensive experience working with families where Spanish is their dominant or first language.
